Back the Buccaneers at home. The Browns are poor travellers (2-6 on the road last season) and their offence is a real problem, averaging only 16.4 points a game, while Tampa Bay has the home-field advantage at Raymond James. Both teams live in tight contests, so this won't be a blowout, but the Bucs' Baker Mayfield should have the edge over Deshaun Watson in conditions that could get messy with showers forecast at kick-off. Watch whether Cleveland's struggling offence can actually move the ball; if they can't establish anything early, Tampa's defence will control this one.
Tampa at home with the tighter edge, Cleveland still finding its footing on the road. The Mayfield grudge match noise is loud, but the real question is whether Watson settles in.
The room is basically where we are, leaning Bucs but not blowing it out, which tracks with how close both teams have run things all year. For the Browns to turn this over, Watson needs a proper bounce back and that tight end matchup has to actually swing a game rather than just make a highlight.
Public Opinion Key Callouts
The build-up is dominated by Baker Mayfield's grudge match against the franchise that drafted and later dumped him.
The grudge match sells previews but it does not move a game plan, we are more interested in how poorly Cleveland travels than in Mayfield's feelings about his old team.
There's a real belief that Cleveland is spiralling, with growing doubt about whether Watson can hold the job much longer after a flat opening performance.
That doubt about Watson lines up with exactly why we have Cleveland struggling on the road, a shaky quarterback situation does not fix itself away from home.
Some caution the Bucs have a habit of relaxing against weaker opposition, so a truly one-sided scoreline isn't a lock despite the gap in perceived quality.
That habit of easing up is precisely why we have the Bucs winning by around 3 and not by double that.
Plenty of chatter centres on whether Tampa's shaky tight end coverage gets exposed again, this time by Cleveland's rising young target.
We cannot see from here whether that young Cleveland target actually torches Tampa's coverage, and if he does it is the kind of thing that turns a comfortable home win into a nervy one.
Bars show how far each factor swings the projected margin. Built from ELO ratings, expected points added per play on both sides of the ball, recent form, home field, rest days and the injury report - never from betting markets.

How each side is actually playing. A season figure marked with a year is last year's, until that side has three games on the board this one. The last 5 and last game always run back from its most recent outing, whichever season that fell in.
